Yarn Bobbins, Yarn Winder, Yarn Holder, Rainbow set of Yarn Bobbins, Large or Small, Set of 6

from $5.50
This is a rainbow set of the Yarn Bobbins offered in my shop. This is a set of 6 bobbins and the colors included are dark purple, red, orange, yellow, light green, and blue. You can choose between a large set and a small set. Please note the shade of the colors might vary slightly due to the occasional variance in hue from one batch of filament to another, but the sets will still include the colors of the rainbow.

**Please note this listing has been updated to include 6 bobbins per set, and the photo updated to reflect the new colors.

The rainbow sets of yarn bobbins are available in the following sizes:

Small
Large
XL

The bobbins in the photos are the large size. Large bobbins can hold over 70g of yarn before they start to approach the notch. Although you can wind these bobbins beyond the notch to hold more yarn, you would then lose the function of the notch until you use some of the yarn to uncover it again. The small bobbins hold over 10g of yarn before approaching the notch. The XL bobbin has not yet been tested, but it's considerably larger than the large size and should hold quite a bit.

The notch on the large bobbins can fit bulky weight yarn and below, although bulky weight is a little snug when inserted. These bobbins are not recommended for any yarns thicker than bulky weight yarn. The small bobbins have a smaller notch and are not ideal for bulky weight yarns.

These bobbins are great for colorwork, intarsia knitting, smaller weaving looms, or for tidying up your mini skeins and leftover yarn. They're quicker and easier to use for hand-winding yarn than a nostepinne and keep your yarn neater as well. They make an easy and affordable alternative if you do not have a cake winder and yarn swift at home.

Winding Instructions:
thread the end of your yarn through the center hole, then wrap the yarn between the petals of the yarn bobbin, going directly across the middle. After wrapping it around several times, rotate the bobbin 90 degrees and wrap between the other petals, so that you're wrapping perpendicular to the first set of wraps. Continue in this manner, rotating and wrapping until you're done.

These yarn bobbins are 3D printed with PLA filament, which is an environmentally friendly plastic.
They are printed from a slightly modified version of the yarn bobbin found on thingiverse, item 2874258.

3D printing is still a fairly new technology and on a rare occasion there are some tiny imperfections. All bobbins are inspected for quality to ensure they will function properly, and to ensure there are no snags. I guarantee the edges will be smooth and sturdy.
