Oxidation - Hand-dyed Yarn, Sock Yarn, Wool Yarn - Fingering Weight– 100g
Please note, this colorway has been modified from the original colorway. The color shifts from darker brown, to light brown, and then to green. Occasionally the light brown dye leaves red spots, like rust that you would see during the oxidation process.
This colorway was inspired by the color change that happens when metal oxidizes, like you see on the statue of liberty. This luxurious yarn is hand dyed with a tonal color gradient that shifts from brown to green. This is a tonal colorway and there are sections within each color of darker and lighter hues to provide a more gradual color shift.
Yarn Base:
Classic Sock
460 yards per 100g skein
75% Superwash Merino Wool / 25% Nylon
Classic Sock - 50g skein
75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon
231 yards / 50g skein
**Please note, if you're intending to make a pair of socks with full length cuffs, one 50g skein will not be enough. From personal experience, a pair of women's size 8 shorty socks will use about 40g of fingering weight yarn.**
High Twist BFL
80% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester Wool / 20% Nylon
400 yards / 100g skein
If you would like this colorway on a yarn base that is not listed, on a different weight yarn, or in a larger quantity, please contact me and I'd be happy to work with you to meet your needs.
**I do my best to accurately display the colors used in my yarn. However, the colors may vary slightly from one computer screen to another depending on the settings.**
Care Instructions:
Although all yarns are rinsed after dyeing to remove any excess dyes, I still recommend washing your finished product separately the first time you wash it. Although some of these yarn bases use superwash wool, which can be machine washed, it should not be put through the dryer; reshape your garment and lay flat to dry. Although hand washing is not required for superwash wool, doing so can extend the life of your garment.
